Community Guidelines

Welcome to the community guidelines of the TruthUpfront comment section. Whether you’re here to ask a tough question, share a personal perspective, challenge something we’ve published, or simply connect with others who value truth, you’re in the right place.

This isn’t just a comment thread tacked onto articles; it’s a natural extension of what we stand for: open dialogue, honest debate, and thoughtful exchange. We believe in disagreement. We believe in curiosity. What don’t we believe in? Hostility, hate, or misinformation dressed up as opinion.

The internet can be chaotic,  but this space doesn’t have to be.
Below, you’ll find what we welcome, what we won’t tolerate, and how we strive to maintain a respectful, genuine, and grounded space in truth.

What We Welcome

Disagreement,  When It’s Respectful

We don’t all have to agree. Some of the best conversations happen when we don’t.
You’re encouraged to challenge ideas,  ours or anyone else’s,  as long as you’re doing it from a place of curiosity and respect.

Attack arguments, not individuals.
Use your voice,  not your volume.
And always remember: there’s a real person behind every screen name.

Facts That Back Things Up

Opinions are welcome. But facts? They’re the foundation.
If you're making a claim,  especially one tied to science, public health, politics, or policy ,  bring the receipts. A credible link, a referenced study, or a clearly stated source goes a long way.

We’re not here for “I heard…”
We’re here for “Here’s what I found.”

Constructive Feedback on Our Work

Let’s be real,  we’re not perfect. Journalism is a process, not a finished product. If you think we missed something, got it wrong, or lacked context, tell us. Thoughtful, evidence-based feedback helps us improve,  and we welcome it.

That said, there’s a line. If your comment turns into a rant, uses sarcasm as a weapon, or assumes the worst about our intent, it won’t add to the conversation,  and it won’t stay up.

Curiosity-Driven Questions

Not sure how we verified something? Want to understand the source behind a claim? Just plain confused? Ask.
You don’t need a degree to be part of the conversation,  only a genuine interest in learning.

What We Don’t Allow

Hate Speech & Personal Attacks

Hard stop.
There is zero room for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, or religious slurs here,  directed at groups or individuals. The same goes for personal insults, bullying, or baiting.

Strong opinions are fine. Strong-arming people with words? Not happening.

If your comment makes someone feel unsafe, targeted, or dehumanized,  it will be removed. Repeated offenses may lead to a ban. No second chances on this one.

Misinformation & Conspiracy Theories

This is a news site built around truth; it’s literally in our name.
We don’t allow content that spreads false or misleading claims, especially around health, science, elections, or public safety.

Unless you’re linking to peer-reviewed, well-sourced, verifiable evidence,  and presenting it in good faith,  don’t go there. This isn’t the place for conspiracy content.

If your comment misleads readers or erodes trust in factual reporting, we’ll take it down.

Spam, Self-Promotion & Off-Topic Posts

We’re not here to promote your YouTube channel, your cousin’s crypto project, or your product line.
Comments that read more like ads than contributions won’t make it through moderation.

Same goes for chatbot-generated text dumps, off-topic rants, or copy-pasted PR fluff.
Be real. Be relevant. Be present.

Harassment, Trolling & Provocation

Jokes are welcome. Cruelty disguised as “humor”? Not so much.
No threats. No vulgar rants. No sarcastic digs meant to incite.

We know the difference between someone having fun and someone trying to stir the pot,  and so do our moderators.

Impersonation

Pretending to be someone you’re not,  whether it’s a journalist, another user, a public figure, or a TruthUpfront team member,  will get you banned.

Simple rule: Be yourself. That’s the only voice that belongs here.

How We Moderate

Our goal is to keep this space open, honest, and civil.
To do that, our editorial and moderation teams actively monitor conversations,  not to censor, but to keep them productive.

Here’s what moderation might look like:

  • Deleting comments that violate these guidelines

  • Flagging or banning repeat offenders

  • Temporarily closing comments on high-conflict topics

  • Engaging directly with respectful questions or criticism

  • Protecting the space, not policing it

Disagree With Our Reporting? That’s Okay.

We believe journalism should be questioned; that’s how it stays accountable.
But if you’re going to challenge something, bring facts, not assumptions. Critique is welcome, but it has to be rooted in evidence,  not ideology, conspiracy theories, or personal bias.

If you think we’ve made a factual error, don’t just call it out in the comments.

Reach out directly: mail@truthupfront.com.
We’ll review it carefully,  and if we've got something wrong, we’ll correct it. Because our goal isn’t to be right. It’s to get it right.

Why These Guidelines Exist

Because this isn’t just a website,  it’s a public square.
And if we want that square to mean something, we all have to help protect it.

At TruthUpfront, we don’t chase outrage. We don’t bait clicks. We publish to inform, to connect, and to elevate the kind of conversation that’s becoming harder and harder to find online.

This community only works if we all show up with integrity, curiosity, and respect.
