Corrections & Retractions Policy

Effective Date: October 2026 • Last Updated: October 2026 • Authority: TruthUpfront Media Standards Directorate
🌐 Network-Wide Corrections Protocol

TruthUpfront enforces a strict, transparent corrections and retraction protocol across the flagship publication TruthUpfront.com and all authoritative specialized properties in our digital network:

1. Our Commitment to Rectifying Errors

While the TruthUpfront Media Network strives for meticulous accuracy across all published journalism, errors can occasionally occur. When they do, our obligation to our readers, our sources, and historical truth demands that we correct the record swiftly, thoroughly, and transparently.

We strictly prohibit stealth editing. We never quietly alter, delete, or rewrite factual statements without acknowledging the change to our readership.

2. Classification of Editorial Updates

We categorize revisions into three distinct editorial tiers:

Tier 1

Clarifications & Style

Minor wording improvements, typographical fixes, or supplementary context that does not alter the factual premises. Handled directly with version history logs.

Tier 2

Factual Corrections

Substantive errors in names, dates, statistics, quotations, or conclusions. Marked by a prominent, timestamped editorial correction note explaining the exact change.

Tier 3

Full Retractions

Articles whose central premise is proven fundamentally false, fraudulent, or irredeemably compromised. Marked with a prominent banner explaining the decision to retract.

3. Our 24-to-48-Hour Resolution SLA

TruthUpfront adheres to a defined Service Level Agreement for error resolution:

  • Receipt & Triage (Within 6 Hours): The Corrections Desk logs the submission, notifies the author and lead editor, and assesses the reported inaccuracy against source documentation.
  • Investigation & Verification (Within 24 Hours): The editorial team conducts re-verification with primary documents or independent experts.
  • Resolution & Publication (Within 48 Hours): If substantiated, the article is updated immediately with an explicit, timestamped correction notice. If the inquiry is unsubstantiated, a written rationale is documented and archived.

4. Domain-Specific Correction Directives

Specialized domains across our network enforce supplementary protocols:

  • Technology (tech.truthupfront.com): If software updates, firmware patches, or re-benchmarking alter a product score or technical review conclusion, an "Updated Benchmark Notice" is appended detailing the new telemetry, date, and hardware delta.
  • Health & Medicine (health.truthupfront.com): Inaccuracies regarding clinical dosages, treatment indications, or medical research are treated with emergency urgency (target resolution within 6 hours) to safeguard patient health.
  • Business & Finance (business.truthupfront.com): Errors in market valuations, SEC filing numbers, or company revenue figures receive immediate correction notices with revised calculations and historical context.

5. Multi-Channel & Syndication Correction Delivery

When an article requiring a Tier 2 or Tier 3 correction has been syndicated to third-party news aggregators, RSS subscribers, or social platforms, our team issues corrected notices across those identical distribution channels to prevent the ongoing spread of inaccurate data.
